Axelle Faes Cortes Brodeuse d'art

The creator of Manushya, Axelle Faes Cortes, explains “I have been interested in experimenting with all kinds of materials in order to discover how they can be integrated into my work. What started as a hobby has turned into a love for the art of embroidery”

Axelle Faes Cortes blossomed early in her career when she graduated with  the French Certificate of "Broderie d'Art" at the prestigious Octave Feuillet School, Paris, in 2014. Axelle also enriched her skills by completing the Creation and Improvement of Sample at The Dupere School, Paris. During this period, Axelle was experimenting with the art of textiles in The Beaux Arts Atelier, Paris.

Axelle has worked and collaborated with many Haute Couture and Ready to Wear houses including Ralph and Russo, Yves Saint Laurent, Maison Margiela, Givenchy, Peter Pilotto, Burberry, Elizabeth Emanuel, Reem Juan, Jennifer Clair, Alex Eagle and Erdem. Her experience also encompasses the "metiers d'art" of Chanel, at Paloma and Lemarie and for the Disney Theatrical "Aladdin"( London & Hamburg),  "Frozen"(London) and for the Musical "Tina" (Turner)( London & Amsterdam).

Having directed the embroidery department for the Alexandre Delima house, Axelle is able to design embroidery from the drawing, sampling to the final production.

Not only does Axelle posses strong embroidery skills but also sewing and pattern making, as prior to her work in embroidery she worked as a seamstress.

“That’s why, with every customer and every project I offer personal consultation. It’s the moment for you to tell me your ideas and visions, and I can offer my experience and skill to bring each item to fruition. I use only the finest hand-picked materials and finishes in every project”
